General settings of the automation template and instance (Pulse Pro)

Updated over 3 months ago

In the general settings, you can edit key options such as the title, reference, status, and availability, among others. Each of these settings is explained below.

All instance settings are initially inherited by the subordinate template and are displayed in gray. To modify these settings, an override toggle must be activated. Instance-specific options can be edited freely without the need for activation.

Template-exclusive settings are marked green.

Instance-exclusive settings are marked yellow.

Title

The title serves an administrative purpose, helping to distinguish different templates and instances. Making sure the title is descriptive of the template's or instance's function, is helping to identify the correct template, when creating an instance.

To set a title is mandatory for creating a template or instance.

Reference

The reference serves as a unique identifier for each instance and is used for administrative purposes. The reference of the associated template is set as a prefix to the instance's reference.

The only special character allowed is the minus sign (-).
To set a reference is mandatory for creating a template or instance.

Visibility (template)

  • ‘Show’: The template will be available when creating a new instance.

  • ‘Hidden’: Users will not be able to create new instances based on this template, but existing instances will still be available.

Internal Notes

Internal notes let you include any necessary information relevant to the template or instance beyond its title. The content will be visible in the automation instance overview.

Frequency limit

The limit defines how often the automation can be executed per user if the configured conditions can occur multiple times.

This can help avoid spamming the recipient.

Status (template)

  • Enabled: Instances created based on this template are by default enabled.

  • Disabled: Instances created based on this template are by default disabled.

Changes made here will not affect its existing instances

Status (instance)

  • Enabled: The instance is active and its configured automation can be triggered.

  • Disabled: The instance is inactive and its configured automation will not be triggered.

Tags

Adding tags can help categorize and organize templates and instances for administrative purposes.

Available for tenants (Moodle Workplace feature)

This option allows you to control which Moodle Workplace tenants have access to the template or are affected by the instance. If no tenants are selected, the template will be available to all tenants and the instance will affect all tenants.

Available in course categories (template)

This option allows you to control in which course categories the template is available. If no categories are selected, the template will be available in all categories.
