Reaction settings of the Pulse activity

The reaction settings of the Pulse activity explained (Pulse Pro)

Updated over 3 months ago

Reaction

Reaction enables recipients of notifications to react directly from the email without being logged into the platform. This feature uses tokenized links, which are valid for a configurable amount of time (set in the global settings). Once the configured amount of time elapses, the recipient can still react, but they will need to log into the platform.

Type

The Pulse activity’s reaction types are:

  • No reaction: The reaction feature is deactivated.

  • Mark complete: The recipient (student) of the Pulse notification can mark the Pulse activity as completed by opening the tokenized link in the e-mail.
This option is available only when ‘Mark as complete by student to complete this activity” is enabled in the completion conditions settings.

  • Rate: The recipient of the Pulse notification can rate the Pulse activity with a thumps up or thumps down directly inside the e-mail.

  • Approve: The recipient (selected role) of the Pulse notification can mark the Pulse activity as completed by opening the tokenized link in the e-mail.
This option is available only when ‘Require approval by one of the following roles’ is enabled in the completion conditions settings, and a role is selected. The selected role in the completion conditions will be the recipient of the notification and will have the ability to approve the student’s completion.

Location

A reaction can be displayed in the following locations:

  • Notification only: Displays the reaction only in the emails that recipients receive.

  • Both: Displays the reaction in the email that recipients receive and in the content section of the Pulse activity.

  • Content only: Displays the reaction only in the content section of the Pulse activity.
