Interactive content (5HP) in Content Designer

How to add and configure H5P elements in a Content Designer activity, including tested types for mandatory setting.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

H5P allows you to create rich, interactive content such as quizzes, games, videos, presentations, and learning objects. These elements are highly customizable and help improve learner engagement and interaction.

To add or edit an H5P element, open the content editor inside a Content Designer activity.

H5P element settings

  • Package file

Upload the H5P package file you want to use. You can drag and drop it into the designated area or click the plus icon to open Moodle’s file picker.
Adding a package file is mandatory when creating an interactive content element.

  • Mandatory

Decide whether this interactive content element must be completed before the next one is unlocked:

    • Yes – The user must complete this element to access the next.

    • No – The next element is available regardless of completion.

For more information about H5P, see the official Moodle documentation.

Grade settings

  • Exclude from grade

If enabled, this H5P will not be included in the grade for the Content Designer activity.

Grade settings are only available when grading is enabled for the Content Designer activity.
